Come run with us! In 2005, the 30-year old Greater Greer Road Race was renamed the Greer Earth Day Run. The event has grown over the years to become one of the most popular springtime races in the area. Starting this year, we’re doing some MAJOR REMODELING - throwing out some of the old stuff, keeping the good stuff, and making some exciting improvements and additions to the event.
Introducing the Greer Earth Day 10K
If you’re a half marathoner who wants to lighten up, or a 5K runner who wants to go to the next level, try the new Greer Earth Day 10K. The race course follows a scenic route through the historic downtown district. This is not a “highway” run. You’re sure to enjoy the route and the finish at beautiful Greer City Park.
Half Marathon & 5K Course Improvements
The new half marathon course is split between the City and “the country”. We took out the less scenic highways (S. Buncombe Road), and kept the scenic ones (J. Verne Smith Parkway). Best of all, the 2012 HM route takes in more of the City so it combines the feel of a downtown race with a country run. The 5K route follows the same downtown loop as the HM and 10K. As mentioned above, this is a scenic route through the City with a total of four City parks along the way including Greer City Park.
An Event for the Whole Family
The Greer Earth Day Run has something for everyone. Bring the whole family for a morning of activity and fun.
